BMD is the product of one code monkey's irrepressible creative libido. Stuck in programming purgatory coding VBA, doomed to toil endlessly in Excel's rows and columns, forever tweaking formulas and cell formatting and user defined functions, he was a bitter little minion. (Get it?) But then he moved to C#, a beautiful, rich language, full of promise and splendor! The clouds parted, the sun shown through, and this website was born. Originally intended simply as a personal software portfolio, it has evolved into the Grand Metropolis of Software Tools and Sage Programming Knowledge you see before you today. Just kidding. Ha ha ha. It's still just one nerd's tiny slice of micro-entrepreneurial internet heaven, with blog topics ranging from programming to skydiving to humor and downloads spanning from the indispensable to the completely esoteric.

When I was younger, I wanted to be a history professor. In particular, I wanted to research the evolution of race relations in the United States. But during my first year in graduate school, two things happened in short order: First, it became clear that the job market for history professors pretty much sucked. Second, I started writing small programs for fun. Yadda yadda yadda, I ended up dropping out of school and coding full time. Turned out I like coding waaay more than historical research. These days I live and work in Houston, Texas and develop software for this site (along with the site itself) in my spare time. When I'm not coding you can usually find me jumping out of perfectly good airplanes.
